AUTUMN RESIDENTS 2019

Eva Jaroňová

(Czech Republic)

Changing Perspectives. Exhibited at Patyolat, 2019.

We live in houses that simultaneously protect us and separate us from nature. We don´t see what´s happening outside. And we´ll get only what we deserve.”

Humans have prospered from nature since time immemorial. But, at a certain moment, he started to take so much that the ancient cycle of nutrient circulation deviated. Those who realised their sins decided to sacrifice themselves. From the others, regardless of realisation or regret, nature will take back what is rightfully hers.

Eva Jaroňová is a visual artist and musician based in the Czech Republic. She studied in Warsaw, Reykjavik, and at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno (The Environment Studio). Her illustrations, objects, and installations are influenced by ecology, feminism, and psychology. By using black humour and, at times, pornography to deal with serious issues, Eva tests the borders of controversy, but her naive drawing style offsets any possible offense. Eva has released several zines and author’s books and contributes to a number of art-focused magazines.
